Cats are more sensitive to the ingredients of flea drops. Pyrethrin, citrus extracts, Organophosphates, etc. of flea drops are good to go on dogs’ skin. If a drop contains these ingredients lesser, then you can use the flea drop on cats. Otherwise, the result will be different.
